    Kerja melarik bulat merupakan kerja yang biasa dilakukan menggunakan mesin larik. Projek telah diinovasikan daripada permasalahan yang timbul dalam proses melarik bulat dengan menggunakan mesin larik konvensional sebelum ini. Bertitik tolak dari permasalahan tersebut, satu kajian dan perbincangan telah dijalankan bagi mencari penyelesaian kepada masalah tersebut. Jig mata alat melarik bulat ialah suatu projek hasil cetusan idea untuk penambahbaikan bagi menggantikan sistem lama yang menggunakan teknik menggerakkan paksi X dan Y. Ianya direka khas untuk memudahkan proses melarik bulat pada mesin larik konvensional. Dengan menggunakan jig mata alat bagi kerja melarik bulat ini proses kerja di mesin menjadi lebih singkat dan menjimatkan masa serta produk yang dihasilkan lebih bermutu. Bagi industri yang mementingkan produktiviti dan keselamatan operator semasa menjalankan proses pemesinan, jig mata alat bagi kerja melarik bulat direka bagi memastikan keselamatan pengguna terjamin. Kajian ini telah diuji keboleh fungsiannya serta beberapa aspek daripada 3 orang pakar bidang yang mempunyai kelayakan akedamik dan kemahiran yang diperakui. Purata nilai min sebanyak 3.7 menunjukkan skor analisis adalah tinggi. Pakar bidang bersetuju bahawa produk ini berfungsi dengan baik. Dengan ini produk ini telah berjaya dilaksanakan

    Perkembangan motor kasar murid tahun satu sekolah rendah

    Pentingnya kanak-kanak mempunyai perkembangan motor yang baik kerana ianya mempengaruhi kanak�kanak lain dalam perkembangan motor secara menyeluruh dan bersepadu. Dengan menilai tahap perkembangan motor murid sekolah rendah, guru boleh melakukan intervensi bagi meningkatkan tahap perkembangan motor serta pada masa yang sama, memastikan murid ini mengalami perkembangan yang holistik. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti tahap perkembangan motor kasar murid-murid tahun satu dan menilai perkembangan murid setelah setahun. Seramai 105 orang murid tahun satu yang terdiri daripada 46 lelaki dan 59 perempuan dalam kalangan murid sekolah rendah di Johor adalah responden untuk kajian ini. Tahap perkembangan motor kasar diukur dengan menggunakan Test of Gross Motor Development Second Edition (TGMD – 2). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pada keseluruhan, tahap perkembangan motor kasar adalah bawah sederhana (M=84.11 min, S=9.99) pada awal tahun dan tidak mempunyai perbezaan yang singnifikan pada akhir tahun (M=85.91=6.77). Kemahiran lokomotor didapati meningkat pada akhir tahun, tetapi kemahiran kawalan objek tidak mempunyai perbezaan yang signifikan. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan kanak-kanak di Malaysia kurang didedahkan kepada permainan yang menggunakan objek. Dengan itu guru Pendidikan Jasmani perlu memberikan pendekatan tersebut disekolah

    E-portfolio MSC indicator for a virtual learning environment

    This study was conducted to identify indicators for the use of e-portfolio for a virtual learning environment in the Malaysian Skills Certification (MSC) system. The approach is through a modified Delphi technique run in three stages. The first stage is analysis of past research material and documents as guidelines in the development of questionnaire items. In the second and third stages, the developed questionnaire is distributed to experts for approval in determining e-portfolio indicators for implementation of the Malaysian Skills Certification system. The sample selected consists of 11 experts in the field of skills certification in Malaysia. Feedback from the experts was analysed using descriptive statistics (mean, median and interquartile range). The findings identify four elements (Assessment, Personal Space, Exhibition and Learning Management) and 32 indicators through a literature review. In conclusion, there are 22 indicators were identified as necessary for the implementation of the use of the e-portfolio in the Malaysian Skills Certification system

    The development of egg hatching and storage machines equipped with cooling and heating systems and IoT was for helping chicken breeders to address the issue of chicken production shortages. To produce large numbers of poultry production, eggs hatching is one of the major step that needs to pay attention to. There are several reasons why egg hatching process fails, such as lack of care by hen, eaten by rooster, and unsuitable hatching environment and temperature. In addition, if the eggs are not incubated within 1 week, the eggs will be damaged having producing a hatching machine and egg storage can help the chicken breeders to produce a better amount of chicken production. Internet of Things (IoT) elements such as the Arduino and Blynk are also used to make this egg hatching and storage machine attractive and to meet the needs and requirements of users. The objectives of this study were to design, develop and evaluate the functionality of egg hatching and storage machines in combination with cooling and heating systems along with IoT. Methodology is a technique and method that incorporates methods and approaches used to achieve the objectives and objectives of the study. The model used is the ADDIE model which consists of 5 phases namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This product has received expert confirmation in terms of design and functionality. The results show that the egg hatching and storage machine is well developed and can attract users when using this hatching and storage machine

    PEDAGOGICAL DECISIONS AMONG VOCATIONAL COLLEGE TEACHER IN MALAYSIA

    To achieve the objective of vocational education, teachers are required to use a variety of teaching and learning methods to improve student achievement. Cultural differences in a country can influence the pattern of thinking and attitudes in implementing an educational system. This study aims to identify pedagogical decisions based on “theory”, “practical” and “technical drawing”, used by Vocational College teachers in Malaysia. This study is a survey of quantitative studies. This research instrument is a questionnaire which is an adaptation of Lucas (2014). The results of the pilot study found that overall questionnaire items had the Alpha Cronbach value of 0.87 - 0.90. It can be concluded that the questionnaire in this study is valid and reliable. The respondents of this study were selected using a random sampling method consisting of 312 vocational college teachers in Malaysia. The data in this study have been analyzed using the Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. Based on “theory”, “practical” and “technical drawing”, respondents prefer “facilitative” for “Role of Teacher” element, “authentic” for “Nature of Knowing”, “Bell bound time” for “Content of Curriculum”, limited to specified content “for element” Organization of Space element, “individually” for “Approach to Task” element, “explicit” for “Visibility of Processes” element, “face to face” for “Attitude to Knowledge” element, and “instruction & monitor” for “Role of Learner” element. However, based on “theory” and “practical” respondents prefer “questioning” for “Organization of Time” element and “workshop” for “Proximity to Teacher” element. In addition, based on “technical drawing” respondents prefer “certain” for “Organization of Time” element and “classroom” for “Proximity to Teacher” element

    The challenge for institutions of higher learning today is to provide the human capital that this industry desperately needs. Past studies have shown that most graduates of local institutions of higher learning do not have the necessary work skills and competencies in the market and there seems to be mismatch in the preparation of graduates for the local job market. In this regard, universities are often blamed for failing to meet the needs of industry and employers. On this basis, this study is hoped to open further discussion space and can help the parties involved in making improvements to improve the quality of graduates especially producing skilled workforce according to industry demand. This study aims to explore the elements of competency that a facility engineer should have in the field of air conditioning and air conditioning. This study was done to provide a comprehensive overview of the elements of competency that need to be presented to the Facility Engineers in order to help the graduates of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology course at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) to be better prepared for the occupational environment. This study used the Modified Delphi Technique – MDT approach for the purpose of obtaining expert approval on constructs in questionnaire instruments as well as using literature survey study through analysis documents. The research instrument used was a set of questionnaires prepared to obtain evaluation from experts. The data were processed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software to obtain the mean score, median and Interquartile Range (IQR) for each item. The findings of the literature review through document analysis produced ten elements and 64 items. Meanwhile, the findings of the modified Delphi study produced the competence of Facility Engineers which has 10 elements and 62 items

    The influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on Malaysian academics participation in the national innovation strategy

    The practice of workplace motivation is always use in activating, directing and maintaining people’s behaviors towards specific courses of actions. In this study, the attentions are focus on studying the factors that motivating Malaysia academic citizens in participating in Malaysia National Innovation Strategy. The methodology of this exploratory study involve a quantitative designed, web-based survey method. Population include all academicians with Malaysia citizenships in all twenty Malaysia public universities, while actual samples collected consist of 833 respondents. Results were analyzed by Kruskall-Wallis test (SPSS) and Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square (SmartPLS). Findings has presented that the eight motivation factors of Equity, Trust, Responsibility, Actualization, Physical Condition, Culture, Career Prospect, and Work-Life Integration have different significant results among the three categories of Malaysia public universities. Implication of this study has revealed the significance of motivation factors National Innovation Strategy, as well as the differences of significances among the three categories of public universities

    Validity and Reliability Learning Transfer Item Using Rasch Measurement Model

    AbstractThis study was conducted to produce an empirical evidence of validity and reliability of the item using a survey questionnaire of learning transfer. Rasch model approach with aided by Winsteps software Version 3.69.1.11 was used to examine the functional items from the reliability and separation of item and respondent, polarity and items fit measuring constructs and standardized residual correlation value. The questionnaire was distributed to 40 trainees from various disciplines at the Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) Shah Alam. The final analysis found that a total of 16 items were eliminated and revealed 81 items that are suitable to measure the five constructs of learning transfer

    Reliability and validity of instrument on academic enhancement support for student-athlete using rasch measurement model

    The purpose of this article is to develop and validate an instrument on Academic Enhancement Support for Malaysian student-athletes. The instrument development process began earlier in previous research's stages. Thirty-five questionnaires were distributed to Malaysia Public University student-athletes who competed at the university and state levels. It took a week to collect data, with a 100% return rate and one damaged questionnaire removed. Winstep version 3.69.1.11 was used to conduct three analyses: item-person reliability and separation index, statistical fit, and standardised residual correlation for item dependent. Cronbach's alpha of 0.96 indicates high reliability, with all items displaying a positive value for item polarity. Thirty items were identified as being misfit, five of which were removed and fifteen of which were revised. In the final analysis, ten pairs of items were dictated to be redundant, and ten items were eliminated following selection. In total, 15 items were removed from the instrument, leaving 82 items in the validated version. In conclusion, the instrument developed is a valid instrument capable of validating the student-perception athlete's of the support necessary for academic advancement during actual study

    Vocational Pedagogical Decisions of Malaysian and Indonesian Non-Engineering TVET Teachers

    A teacher’s pedagogical decisions determine the quality and effectiveness of the teaching and learning process while academic content (practical or theories), as well as teachers cultural background (as indicated by teacher's nationality), can influence teachers’ decision makings. Thus, the aim of this study was to identify the dominant pedagogical decisions as practiced by non-engineering TVET teachers in two countries namely Malaysia and Indonesia. A survey was conducted on 312 Malaysian Vocational College (VC) and 200 Indonesian Vocational Senior Secondary School (VSSS) teachers.  A questionnaire consisting of 33 items on pedagogical decisions was used to gather data on teacher’s pedagogical decisions. Descriptive analysis conducted on the data indicate that the findings indicate that there are similar in vocational pedagogical decisions used by Malaysian-Indonesian respondents based on "Role of Teacher", "Nature of Knowing", "Organization of Time", "Content of Curriculum", "Organization of Space", "Approach to Task" and "Visibility of Processes". In addition, this study found that there are differences in vocational pedagogical decisions used by Malaysian-Indonesian non-engineering TVET teachers based on "Attitude to Knowledge", "Proximity to Teacher" and "Role of Learner"
